Sequencing and Plot Diagram Activity

I don't know about you kids, but my kids suck at sequencing. I think it is because they don't pick up on transitional cues very well. Whatever the cause I knew that I needed to go back to the basics this fall. I've decided that I am going to:

1. Buy a few picture books that have a clear path:

2. Count the number of pages in the books
3. Number the pages randomly in sharpie

4. Write down the random order numbers from start to finish for an answer key. Trust me and do it NOW.
5. Gently take the books apart

6. Determine the plot diagram of each book
7. Place the deconstructed books separate ziplock bags

7. Sit back and watch my diligence pay off

What will happen is that I will split my class into their learning groups. Each group will get a deconstructed picture book. They will need to reconstruct the book from start to finish and determine the plot diagram of the book. When each group is done they will switch books with another group.

Staples Engineering Prints

Last summer I decided that I wanted to re-do my bedroom. I painted the room purple, which i've always wanted to do, but the big thing I wanted was prints for my walls. I did a lot of research and man were prints expensive in the sizes that I wanted! Finally, I learned about Staples Engineering Prints They are super cheap, and actually print really nicely (even though the website claims they are not intended for photos). All I did was trace the print on the insulation board, cut it with a regular box cutter, and paint the edges of it with a Paint Sample that accented my walls. Lego Rewards for VIPKid or GoGoKid

So I was looking at the facebook groups today and I saw a lady who's daughter made this for the GogoKid lesson "Apple and Banana" and I thought it was just great! : Every slide (or every time a student does a good job) you could add a few more pieces to creation and have them guess what it is going to be! I started looking up other simple creations that my students always talk about and compiled a short list below!
